Can I make money on ebay reselling products from wholesalers / dropshipping?
Does it work well these days, do only most of the powersellers succeed at this?

Also, is there another way to make money online?

You can do this, even if you start out small. It’ll take some time to attract all the customers you want, but if you work at it, sell good products, and make sure your Buyers are satisfied, you could one day reach Powerseller status yourself. Quite a bit of the Powersellers started out small.

Im not to familiar with dropshipping at all but I want to start a lingerie business online but dont have alot of funds.

First you need a supplier that is willing to drop ship. If you intend to have repeat customers, loyal clients the first thing to think of is that your giving away your client list directly to the wholesaler who can definately undershoot your price points. In addition, drop shipping is more costly in most instances. If you don’t have a large budget to work with, then your gonna have to determine if your margins are worth it or not. Like the other poster said, your first problem is that you have no money. Secondly, I assure you that your not the first person to attempt this, nor will you be the only supplier on the market in your area. It will be stiff competition, one in which you probably won’t have much of an edge over the competition. You need to reassure yourself that your prepared for this journey & that you have the ability to handle your finances accordingly & especially try to come up with a business plan that offers something that your competitors simply don’t have.

Simplex is suppose to be one of the largest dropshippers in the world. Before i spend my $19.95 for the application I would like you opinion. If you haven’t can you suggest good dropshipping websites/programs?

DON’T dropship.

When the dropshipper runs out of stock, you don’t find out until your customer doesn’t get their stuff. Then you have a mad customer, a dropshipper who’d got your money and will send you the product "whenever" and you’re stuck.

If you’re selling on ebay, you’ll be out of business within months because of the negs you accumulate.

I am going to open an online business utilizing affiliate marketing. I want people’s opinions about wholesale dropshipping. Is it profitable? Do you really need to pay a monthly fee? How do you really make money if you have to pay fees? Is it worth it?

Mate you haven’t done enough research into this obviously, as you are asking questions which show that. I have been in the industry before and can tell you’re not ready to begin.

1) Yes it’s profitable if done right, but no one is going to teach you that on Yahoo Answers, you need to go research. Be prepared to lose money and make mistakes at the start.
2) No you dont need to pay a monthly fee. Go research. There are many places which will charge, and many free. Go straight to manufacturers or wholesalers if you must.
3) You make money by pricing your products right. Target specific niches if you can. Drive traffic to the sites. And convert! Thats the formula.
4) Not worth it unless you have a passion and really want to do it. Otherwise you’d be like the 98% of other people who get on, fail, and quit, and make it profitable for people like me who get in and dont stop til I succeed.

Drop shipping is not always a good idea. You are putting your business in someone else’s hands and relying on them to ship a product in a timely, professional manner on your behalf.

What are some good dropshipping websites ?

Dropshipping is when you order a product and your supplier ships it directly to your customer using your label. That way, it appears the product came from your warehouse. That way, your customer gets their product and you make a couple bucks on the markup without touching the product.

Many companies will offer dropshipping for a small fee or even free.

I am a 46 year old female….and I earn benefits for me,my daughter and my son through social security. My husband died and I dont work. What will happen If I start dropshipping on ebay….will I lose my benefits….I cant very well hide the fact that I have income other than social security and life insurance…help…please….

I hate to say it but maybe you should stop dropshipping and take on something more in tune to your situation. Nuff said.

I’m a member of Salehoo, and I found it to be really good – especially when I was just starting. All their suppliers are checked for reliability, which I liked after having been tricked by another company!!

Had lots of really good suppliers, but I had to research a lot to find something to sell profitably on eBay – the customer service people helped me out, which I though was really good.

I want to start a lingerie business and I was reading about dropshipping but the more I read the more confused I seem to be. I know I have alot to learn about starting a business online so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Pros are that you don’t buy it ahead of time, when you get an order from your customer is when you place an order with your supplier. So inventory doesn’t tie up any of your money, you’re not left with purchases nobody seems to want.

Con is that the customer has to wait for it. If they are in a hurry, could lose the customer to a competitor.
